The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is Monday, September 30th.

This day is dedicated to mark the Truth and Reconciliation Call to Action #80:
We call upon the federal government, in collaboration with
Aboriginal peoples, to establish, as a statutory holiday, a National
Day for Truth and Reconciliation to honour Survivors, their families,
and communities, and ensure that public commemoration of the
history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component
of the reconciliation process.
Truth and Reconciliation is the responsibility of all Canadians and as educators we have additional responsibilities to ensure that this day is meaningfully recognized within our school communities. Calls to Action #62 and #63 speak directly to our roles as facilitators of Reconciliation.
All AMDSB schools will have an explicit plan for student learning about the Calls to Action on September 30th.
